The year is coming to a close and while everyone is preparing for the holidays, we’re also reflecting over the past year and setting goals for the new one. This year has been a transformational year for me. It wasn’t always comfortable or exciting, but I’ve grown tremendously and made some radical changes that really feel good. This year was all about tearing down the old to prepare for the new…which makes me really excited to see what next year brings.
What are some of the radical changes, you ask?
Firstly, it’s official! I’ve moved back to Chicago! It didn’t start out as an intentional thing. I initially just came home for a little bit until I found a new place in Atlanta. But, I really missed my fam and love being closer to them. For my entire adult life, I’ve lived away from my family. So, it feels good to be back and to also be able to support my parents in being the caretaker of my grandfather. If you’re in Chicago, let me know…I’d love to meet up!
Second, I’ll be closing the doors to the Business Made Simple Coaching Program at the end of this year. Moving forward I’ll only be offering coaching services via Live Online Courses (launching in 2019!), Strategy Sessions, and Action Plan Sessions. I made this decision because I wanted to create more time to focus on other creative pursuits within my business. One of which is writing a book (I’m hoping to publish in the fall of 2019…but I’ll keep you posted!).
Third, and technically it’s not a radical change, but… I just celebrated my one year anniversary at my job! Having multiple streams of income is great, especially when it’s on your terms. I love the life I’ve created for myself. My schedule is still very flexible (I work remotely), I get to travel (going to Tampa next week!), run a business I absolutely LOVE, and the stress of having all my eggs in one basket is gone!
I love sharing my life with you because I want to be transparent about what operating a business looks like. Although your purpose may remain the same, your business can look different from year to year as you grow, your values shift, and/or your life changes. It’s perfectly normal and you have to allow yourself and your business to EVOLVE.
I’d love to hear what’s new with you. What exciting things are you working on in your business? Have you had to make any shifts in your business as you’ve grown? Share in the comment section below, I’d love to hear from you!
P.S. I’ll be launching a new YouTube Series in December entitled, Lessons Learned, where I’ll be sharing some of the mistakes I’ve made in business and what I’ve learned from them. I’ll keep you posted on the deets! But you can subscribe now so that you don’t miss it. 😉
